Richmond Cycling Group
Monthly, first Monday, 10am - 1pm
Leader: Stewart Perkes
Tel: 07798 695113
This group's activities always take account of the wishes of the group members, but it remains a group that:
• is for people who enjoy cycling without having to struggle to keep up
• emphasises the social nature of a ride
• is not for ‘fitness freaks’ who are seeking challenging rides.
• usually covers distances of between 20 and 25 miles each time.
• is for those who take pleasure in being outdoors in the company of others and who are happy to have a coffee stop (sometimes lunch too)
Stewart sends out clear ride details each month, with information about where we’re going and where/when we’ll meet on the day. Some rides are at the suggestion of other group members.
Please contact Stewart if you would like any more information or are interested in joining. There are 15 on the group list at the time of writing, but we usually have 8 or 9 on each outing. There are no vacancies at the moment, but please call Stewart if you are keen to join, as numbers fluctuate and there may be a space

Since the group started in October 2016 we have been on some lovely rides, all different, and all to places not too far afield. The aim is to have as much off-road cycling as possible. Our last ride took us to the South Bank, via the Thames path, almost all off-road. It’s lovely cycling to London with minimum traffic. We have also done rides along the Grand Union canal, via Syon Park and Brentford Lock; the river to Twickenham, Bushy Park and back from Hampton Court. We have had some beautiful weather to make our rides even better, and some memorable coffee stops. Our next ride involves a train ride to Staines and then back along the river, a really beautiful stretch for cycling of about 20 miles back to Richmond.
We are usually a group of about 6 or 7, so have vacancies for one or two more people.
