Shakespeare Reading Group
We meet on the afternoon of the third Wednesday of the month, in Prudhoe. Joint convenors Bill Wooldridge and Moira Wooldridge.
We are a group of people from very different backgrounds, all united by our long-standing love of Shakespeare's plays and our happy memories of them. We meet once a month to read the plays aloud together and also to discuss background, characters, themes etc. Occasionally we view individual scenes on DVD.
The group is based on the premise that every time you read or see a play, however familiar, you will discover something new. We aim to revisit the well loved plays and also to explore the less familiar works.
