Digital Photography
Our members have a wide variety of interests and experience, we all want to learn more and to improve our photography. We meet on the third Monday of the month. From April to September we meet outdoors, weather permitting, taking pictures together. From October to March we meet indoors at the Spetchells Centre in the morning. We spend those winter months reviewing photographs taken over the spring/summer, and discussing various topics.
For our indoor winter meetings our group is full and any new applicants will have to go on a waiting list. But for our outdoor meetings there is no limit on numbers, and we welcome participation by any U3A members who are interested in photography and want to talk to other photographers.
We share our images via a monthly digital newsletter. And every Christmas we have a closely fought competition for the Silliest Picture of the Year - the winner becomes custodian of the Yellow Duck trophy.
This year, John won the Silliest Picture competition in his absence, with The Finger. Les will formally hand The Duck over to John's care next month. The prize-winning photo is attached.
