Poetry Reading

“ ... poetry; the best words in the best order.” - Samuel Taylor Coleridge

We work together to discuss, explore and most of all enjoy poetry. The Poetry Reading Group currently meets weekly on Wednesdays over Zoom.

There is an article by the Poetry Reading Group on page 17 of Lockdown Newsletter 2 about how we supported each other during Lockdown by sharing and reading poetry.

The Poetry Reading Group produced two Anthologies and both can be accessed by clicking on the links on the right. The Anthology "A Second Year in Poems" was illustrated by our own Hackney U3A Art Group.

We are currently meeting fortnightly on a Wednesday - one meeting at Prideaux House, 10 Church Crescent E9 7DL from 10- 11.30 and one on Zoom from 10-11.
This means that some people may chose to attend both sessions but people will have the option of not attending the "live" meeting if they prefer not to meet face to face / are self isolating / finding it difficult to use public transport.

Pre the Pandemic this group used to meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10:00 to 11:30.

This group is currently full. Please contact the Group Leader Elizabeth Hay by clicking on the link in the top right hand corner to be added to the waiting list or with any other query.
