Shorter Walks
Group Leader: Michael Shore
Frequency: once a month, on a Thursday
Time: Varies, but normally morning starts
Place: Various locations
Length of walk: these are shorter and slower paced walks with plenty of breaks including lunch; there is in general the possibility to only do the morning part of the walk.
Information on the next walk is emailed to the Group Members one or two weeks prior to the next walk and publicised on our website.
These walks were suspended due to the Pandemic but they restarted in September. The first outing was to Epping Forest. In October, we visited the Olympic Park and Victoria Park.
In November, the group visited Surrey Docks and then walked from Wapping to the City.

The Shorter Walk is taking its usual break in December and January and walks will resume in February.

Thu Sep 1st | MYDDLETON HOUSE GARDENS AND FORTY HALL Meet Hackney Downs Station in good time to catch train at 10.24 to Turkey Street, arrives 10.47. The train also calls at Rectory Road, Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill and Seven Sisters. Morning: Look around Myddelton House Gardens and then short walk to Forty Hall and lunch there. Please note there is a very limited choice of food at the takeaway there, just sandwiches and sausage rolls. Afternoon: Walk around the Forty Hall Estate, the path is mainly in the shade. Then back to Myddelton House Gardens for tea, and home from Turkey Street. If you are coming can you please let the group leader know. |
