Folk Dance

The Folk Dance Group restarted in May 2022 after a 2 years break.

This group meets the first Thursday of each month at Homerton library from 10:30 - 12:30.
No experience needed. We like to welcome newcomers.

We are led by an professional teacher Mary Panton who brings the music and gives us detailed instructions.. She explains what to do and if we get it wrong then that all adds to the fun. She teaches us circle, line and square dances and tells us the the stories of their origins.

Dancing is a wonderful exercise and we also have great fun with plenty of laughter when we get things wrong. Don't worry if you have 2 left feet or mix up left and right you'll still have a good time. Good dancers are of course especially welcome.

If this appeals to you as a good way to get some exercise come and join us!

Initially, there was a £2 charge per session but this activity is now being funded by the Mary Ward Centre.

Contacts for this group are Ann Hunte and Janet Evans. To become part of this group, please get in touch with the contact person by clicking the link in the top right of this page.
