Our April meeting was held at another of our member’s house and as usual was as lively as ever. Topics talked about were:- Recommendations requested for the best tomatoes to grow, Is it too early to put a lemon tree outside? The cost of living crisis has affected the cost of buying from Garden Centres, and can a ‘no dig bed’ be created on an existing bed? (Apparently it can.)
Members enjoyed a walk round the lovely garden.
It was mentioned that there will be plenty to interest members of the Garden Interests group at Nature in Art open on Monday May 20th for the National Garden Scheme. For £6.50 entrance fee you will have access to the museum, garden, orchard and the artist in residence. There will be new sculptures in the garden, plant and book sales in the Education Centre and there will be a compost expert and bee expert to answer questions. The café will be open for tea, coffee and cake.
Our next meeting is on Thursday 9 May 2024.

Sadly we are still unable to take new members, our number remains capped for now.
Our numbers have, for now reached the capacity of my lounge so, for the moment we have had to cap the number of members. If anyone else is interested I suggest they look into starting a similar group. This sort of group really only operates well with smaller numbers rather than in a large hall. If anyone wants advice about this please feel free to contact me. Regards Ann
