Many members enjoyed our holidays and days out during 2018. We started with a trip to Pembury House in Clayton to view the snowdrops and hellebores. We continued in March, April and May with visits to the postal museum in London, Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium and the Friendship Rock Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Also in May, 30 plus people travelled to Waterford in Ireland where we enjoyed a busy few days exploring the region. Our outings continued in June with a most enjoyable visit to Walmer Castle and the Salutation Gardens in Sandwich; then in July we journeyed to Loxwood for a cruise down the canal and then lunch in the local pub. August saw our annual visit to Warner’s, this time to Alvaston Hall in Cheshire where a great time was had by all in spite of the rather prolonged journey to get there. In September we headed off to Standen National Trust House near East Grinstead. October saw us holidaying again, this time to Bournemouth where we were lucky with the weather and among many other things enjoyed a splendid boat trip round Poole harbour in glorious Autumn sunshine with fish and chips on board. We rounded the year off with a visit to the Kew Festive Trail of lights on 22 November where we oohed and aahed our way round the splendid lights.
We hope you like our proposed programme for 2019
