NB Meetings are on the last Friday of every month, except December. Last meeting in 2023 is on Friday 15th December.
The aim of this group is to foster an appreciation of a variety of different kinds of music, both familiar and unfamiliar. The music played is mostly classical, but we also have selections of jazz, blues and folk music from time to time. Programmes for each monthly session are chosen mostly by the convenor, but members are also encouraged to prepare a programme themselves, so hopefully producing a wide range of music to listen to; background information about the composers and pieces is also provided, and informal discussion is encouraged.
Concert outings are also organised regularly, and are open to all, not just members of the group.
