The group meets fortnightly on Mondays from 2.30-4.30 Each session is introduced by a group member who provides some informed information. A discussion on a huge variety of subjects followed by an informal and lively exchange of views.
The room will be arranged like a boardroom with a long table in the centre and chairs around the outside. We will try to socially distance and I am going to wear a mask on entering and leaving the building but I will take my mask off to lead the session. It is up to everyone to make a decision about their own mask wearing.
There are toilets on the first floor for people with disabilities and the usual ‘ladies and gentlemen’ facilities.
So far we have discussed the Near Death Experience and evidence for life after death, Happiness, the Greek Orthodox Church, Democracy, the Pope's visit to Britain, the NHS compared with other health systems, the financial crisis in the UK and whether organic food is anything more than marketing hype. Each session is introduced by a volunteer who provides some informed background on the matter to be discussed over tea, and sometimes biscuits, leading into lively general discussion by members which often continues beyond the formal end of the meeting.
