Group Leader: Susan Irving

Update 22/5/20

The Craft group would like to invite anyone who would also like to have fun with this next challenge:

To design and make a bookmark showing something(s) that you have enjoyed or that have given you comfort over lockdown. It can be on any material including paper or fabric or could be woven, knitted or crocheted. Really, any way you would enjoy making it.

We would love it if you could take a photo and send it to Peter Barnett who kindly puts things on the Today or Craft group page for us. Hopefully at some point we can have a display of lockdown crafts but photos would be great until then.
This is a fun project and although there are some very talented crafters in our U3A remember this is not a competition but a sharing of interests and positive lockdown experiences project.

Update 3/4/20
The Craft Group was a closed group (due to the size of Sue's Living Room) but as it is now operating online it is open to any member. See the Today page to see what people are doing and contact Susan Irving for more information about the current projects.

Update 25/3/20
We can still exchange photos and information during the crisis, starting with:
Easter chicks on eggs in knitted flowers by me and a flower for U3A day by Eileen Russel and now Joan - scrapbooking.

Please look at the What’s App group for advice on materials and designs. I have some yellow wool and plenty of card to make card Pom Pom makers but if you have a Pom Pom maker please bring it. I have pieces of felt but again if you have specific requirements it’s probably advisable to bring your own. I have now bought a small hot glue gun but if you have one and think we may need them please bring it. Pinterest have several ideas.
We had a planning meeting in January but would like more ideas for future projects.
