Update 3/4/20

Competition

When Wessington first started implementing coronavirus advice it was said all activities were suspended. However, it is only face to face activities that need to be affected. We can still use the internet to interact within our groups and, in the case of DPG, run competitions.

A digital competition was scheduled in our calendar for March, but it would be difficult to take new pictures of "ruins" at the moment. However, some of the other competitions in the calendar can be done digitally. Therefore our first digital competition will be "FOOD".

Please send me, via email, up to 4 digital images resized to a maximum of 1400 pixels wide and a maximum of 1050 pixels high. These dimensions might seem small compared to the resolution of your camera but they are good enough to view on a digital display. These are the dimensions used by Washington Camera Club for competitions so they should be OK for us. These dimensions will also mean that there should be no file size problem when attaching files to emails. Entries can be colour or monochrome, all judged together for this competition but might be judged separately for future competitions. Entries must be jpeg format and have a title, either as part of the filename or indicated in the email.

The cut-off date for entries is in 2 weeks i.e. 17 April. I will judge them and post feedback within a week (unless I am inundated with entries). I also intend to open the competition to all Wessington members provided they can meet the entry requirements.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

The group meets every other Friday either at Woodridge Gardens, Columbia at 2pm or out on assignment.

At Woodridge Garden there is a charge of £2 per person per session to cover the cost of the room.

Brief notes about what we did during our previous meetings and our competition winning photos can be seen on the Our Meetings Diary page.
