Garden Group 1
Contact the Gardens Group 1 group leader, Barbara Jacobs on telephone 01279 655578 or by email using the button at the top of this page.
The Gardens Group 1 meets at least once a month, usually in the morning of the fourth Thursday of the month, although we occasionally meet at other times too. The purpose of the group is to spend the summer months visiting gardens open to the public, either by travelling to fairly local gardens when we drive ourselves, or by coach to gardens further afield. We have about 3 coach trips per year, and during the months of November to January/February we have workshops and/or talks on garden-related issues.
The charge for membership is £10 per year, which covers the cost of hall hire, speakers etc.
Because the Group is so popular, we have had to limit the number of members to 50, but we do hold a waiting list.
Non-members of the Gardens Group 1 can join us on our coach trips (depending on availability of seats). Please see 'Dates for Diary' box below.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.
Please note: entrance to talks are free for Gardens Group 1 members, £4 for other U3A members. Price includes refreshments.
All talks are held at the Emmaus Centre (rear of St Barnabus Centre) and start at 2.15pm. Please arrive just after 2pm so we can start on time.
