History
We are an enthusiastic group of 40 members with a range of historical interests from The Stone Age to the recent past or at least within our collective memory. A series of presentations by various members over the past three years have covered such diverse topics as
- The Year I started School
- The history of Woad manufacture in Lincolnshire and S.W. France
- The Quintinshill rail disaster
- The story of the Carlisle and District State Management Scheme
- The history of Scapa Flow
- ...and much, much more.
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 2.00 pm in Pinchbeck Village Hall. A current project involves several members working on the production of our second book on the history of Spalding, which is due for publication towards the end of the year.
We extend a very warm welcome to anyone with a more than passing interest in matters historical whether political, social or local. Do come and join us; we look forward to seeing you.
