Welcome to the SPALDING & DISTRICT U3A Web Site. We are a small, friendly group of like minded individuals who are no longer in full time employment. Formed in 1998, we gain a great deal of pleasure and some entertainment from meeting others, either on a monthly basis at our general meetings or at Special Interest Groups. Take a look at the 'NOTICES' and 'OUTINGS' pages, for reviews of recent outings or occurrences within the branch.
We meet on the First Thursday of each month from 1.30pm at Surfleet Village Hall, Station Road, Surfleet, PE11 4BW. There is usually a Guest Speaker and beforehand, you can purchase used books. Your used books are gratefully received as are used postage stamps which are donated to Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. Following the speaker there is a chance to catch up with friends, Committee Members and Group Leaders over a cup of beverage and a biscuit. Details of Special Interest Groups are available on the ‘GROUPS' page or, for more details, contact Sheila Field, Groups Coordinator, via the ‘CONTACT’ page.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NON MEMBERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND GROUP MEETINGS.
Visitors are able to attend 2 free taster sessions at the monthly meetings (Except for the October and December meetings which are for members only) before joining. Then once a member, can join unlimited groups. To find out further details please e-mail a Committee member using the 'CONTACT' page.
We distribute a Quarterly Newsletter full of the latest Spalding & District U3A information which is available to members either by e-mail or by contact with the Vice Chair, Alex McGregor via the ‘CONTACT’ page. Non-members are invited to attend up to two Monthly Meeting 'taster' sessions (Note not the October or December meetings as these are for members only) before being required to pay an annual subscription of £16.00 (£10 after the new year to cover until renewals in July). Once you are a member you will be invited to attend a 'Welcome to New Members Meeting' where you will be helped to integrate fully into all activities available throughout the branch. Forthcoming Speakers and events, such as outings and competitions are shown on the ‘EVENTS’ page.
