Spalding & District

Welcome to our Website

Spalding is in the heart of the Fens, within the South Holland District of Lincolnshire, an apt description for the flatness of the landscape, network of dykes, “big” skies, and memories of the once flourishing tulip industry. The town is still known for its flower and vegetable cultivation and is a major hub for the supply, packaging and distribution of vegetables to all the major supermarkets. The very first barcode used in the UK was in a Spalding supermarket – pub quiz question!

Our U3A was formed in 1998. Open to those no longer in full time employment who wish to share their interests, knowledge and experiences with like-minded people, to find new friendships in a creative, educational, and certainly fun environment.
