This group was formed in 1999 for a common purpose: To learn about all aspects of researching, displaying and writing up Family History.
To research your ancestry, no special knowledge is required, nor any special materials. However, a computer or access to one, is very helpful and is increasingly becoming essential. We use internet access during meetings to demonstrate search techniques and help members to overcome difficulties during their researches.
We currently have about 25 members and have a few more places available.
Meetings generally take place on the afternoon of the first Monday of each month,
from 2.00pm to 4.30pm in Shaftesbury.
Once a year we try to run a Beginner's Session.
