International History 1

The International History group currently meets on the third Wednesday morning of the month and is now entering its eleventh year.

Between 2018 and 2020 there were two separate groups, looking at different topics, but during the pandemic we came together for fortnightly meetings on Zoom, and we continue to meet on Zoom, albeit less frequently. A week before each meeting I normally send out links to relevant YouTube video lectures or documentaries (which usually means about two hours’ preparatory viewing). We have ranged over many periods and regions, from the beginnings of Islam to contemporary China and the Middle East, but since 2022 our focus has again been on Europe, particularly World War I and succeeding decades.
