Our aim is to complement Saltburn U3A's thriving for Pleasure Writing Group, and to take that next step for attendees towards completing first (or second, or third) novel (or other) to the highest possible standard.
As well as presenting chapters/pieces for feedback/critique, we will also:
discuss different styles/genres of writing,
bring any articles, books or discussions to group which may be pertinent or interesting,
compare different approaches to writing ie, linear -v- non-sequential, and setting aside specific times to write -v- whenever the Muse calls,
discuss experiences of writer’s block and ways to sidestep,
share strengths, and accept help with weaker areas,
investigate ways to present written work to make it ‘publisher’ friendly,
discuss different ways to approach publishing – Self/Independent/Traditional.
