Ponteland

Short Walks Group

The walks are up to 4 miles on the 2nd and 4th Mondays in each month and always finish with a bite of lunch in suitable hostelries. We are connoisseurs of country eating places! We have explored the coast, the out-of-the-way hamlets and churches, rivers, bluebell woods, hay meadows, heather moors, and feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful county although we sometimes stray into foreign territory, south of the river.
We do welcome men but don’t seem to hold onto them. They come and go. Anyone out there? The groups meet at 9.30 in the Memorial Hall car park and arrange lifts. There is a small charge for the passengers. Sometimes we use the Metro and always carry any bus and Metro passes, English Heritage and National Trust membership cards.
