Planning for 2021
Because of Social Isolation we are unable to run our Strolls for the time being instead we are having occasional meetings on Zoom the next meeting is on the 26th January at 2:30 see below.
We are also staying in touch by our Facebook group " Senior Snappers" and through our Flickr site.
On Flickr we have a Social Isolation Album where members have selected and uploaded pictures either taken during isolation or that illustrate the theme.
If you would like to join Senior Snappers to keep up with the latest News about both of our Photography Groups and to see a showcase of members topical photographs please send an email quoting your u3a membership number to Roger Mead rogermead@btconnect.com
Virtual Stroll Clerkenwell – Architecture, Crime and Heroism. 2:30 Tuesday 26th January presented by one of our members Stuart Weir
This stroll would have been approximately 2.5 miles had we been able to walk it as originally planned but by presenting it on Zoom it has been extended slightly. By doing so, it opens up the opportunity to look at a small area of Clerkenwell – an area heavily bombed in World War II, in a slightly different way to what we usually do on a SWAC by looking, not only into the past, but in one case what the future may hold. However, at the heart of this stroll, there are many photos that we would have taken if Covid hadn’t got in the way.
Full Zoom details have been sent to members in the last edition of Keeping in Touch ( page 6 of no18)
ALBUMS
An essential part of our Stroll is the opportunity to share our images on the Flickr site. By doing so we can all improve our photography and share in our successes. If you have not yet contributed please do so – it’s part of the deal!
Julia has taken over maintaining our Flickr site. So please send your pictures to Julia by email to jklarsson@btinternet.com.
They should be Jpeg files, reduced down to around 300-500 kb and renamed with your name i.e. “rogermead1”, “rogermead 2 “ etc. If you have a problem doing this please contact either Roger or Julia who will be able to talk you through the process.
Photographs can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/u3aselondon.
There is a PDF with descriptions of previous Strolls available from the link on this page.
