The U3A Computer Club is getting ready to start up after the enforced break!
Computers and the Internet have proved invaluable during the last 18 months, providing a way of keeping in touch with the world via video meetings and personal calls, online shopping and banking as well as accessing information and entertainment.
We are planning to have two kinds of sessions:
1. Class sessions:
In our first meeting we will be looking at how our use of computers in their many forms have developed and how to stay safe from scams and other potential harms while using the Internet. We will also be asking you about what subjects related to computer use and the Internet you would like to be covered in future sessions.
We will be meeting in the St Mary Centre in Eltham High Street, as before, starting at 10:30am on a Thursday.
Due to the extension of the COVID restrictions our meeting planned for the 8th July has been cancelled. The first meeting will be on 5th August 2021. Meetings have been planned for every two weeks from the 9th of September.
2. Tailor made 1 to 1 sessions by arrangement from 1st September 2021:
If you have a problem using a computer, or difficulties using a piece of software, we may be able to advise you. Send an email to U3AComputerClub@gmail.com quoting your membership number, telling us if you would like help with anything.
If we are able to help, we can arrange a meeting at a convenient coffee shop or a library for a one-to-one session, for one to two hours.
If you have used Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Meeting or Skype, you might prefer to arrange a virtual session at a convenient date and time. If you have a tower or desk top computer, this option might suit you best.
