History
The History Group meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 2:00 pm at Heaton Moor United Church.
Last year, we focused on events in the 18th Century. This year, we are exploring changes in society in the 19th Century, along with important events which took place between 1800 and 1900. We have discussed the Napoleonic Wars and will be looking at Trade Unions and The American Civil War later this year.
Members of the Group take turns to research aspects of each topic and present their findings to the rest of the Group. We also have various interesting speakers from time to time.
We welcome existing and new u3a members to join the group. Please feel free to come along and give History a try.
