We’re looking forward to the National u3a Day on 2nd June 2021 and depending on the state of lockdown are planning a number of events across the Heatons and Reddish. Watch this space for updates and come along to your local event.

Join Rachel to learn more about London’s public open spaces; from Royal Parks and botanic gardens to common land and nature reserves, find out about the stories behind these places of floral wonder. Meet the people who ensured they would be around for generations to enjoy and get to know the plants and animals that call these places home. There will be some surprising tales along the way and plenty of inspiration to get out and enjoy London in a different way.

Former secondary headteacher of Avondale School in Stockport and Turton High School in Bolton, currently an Education Consultant. He also directs plays, has illustrated books and education publications, and is an art copyist.

In which he talks about all the fun he has had writing both radio and TV series for top comedians including Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Dick Emery, Frankie Howerd, Bruce Forsyth, Hylda Baker, Hattie Jacques, David Frost and Bob Monkhouse. The talk contains many humorous backstage stories.
