The Next Walk is when Coronavirus is history
The February walk was from Tilgate Park, Crawley, went quite well and was not as muddy as expected. Some of us ate at the Golf Club there. This was the last walk before the March lock down.
Our first walk since the start of the Covid 19 epidemic took place from the Kings Standing car park in Ashdown Forest with 11 walkers, who had been instructed to divide into two groups, in spite of the weather forecast the weather was kind with dappled sunshine views across and beyond the forest, there was a brief light shower near the end of the walk.
The new restrictions mean that CWG group's November walk is cancelled, in the light of the numbers self isolating, the December Christmas lunch too is cancelled however that month's walk may take place.
We will NOT be meeting at East Court.

Country Walking Group general information.
We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month, except for December when it is often earlier to avoid Christmas. The details of the meeting place, usually at the pub the walk is from, will be announced by email and on this page, we sometimes use the Sports Pavilion car park at the bottom of the sports fields below East Court Mansion if we are going further afield than usual and want to car share moe than usual. For those who don't know this latter location please use the "Contact Link" on this page.
Each month an email is sent to all CWG members with an attachment giving full details of the walk venue and the times to depart. If the meet option notified is at East Court please be available to depart from there by 9:45am latest. The standard U3A Group attendance fee of 50p will be collected before the walk.
Each walk will normally be 'circular' in nature, starting at the selected venue hopefully no later than 10.30am (Often 10:00am). The venue is normally a Pub car park - within a 30 minutes’ drive from East Grinstead. Directions will be provided where necessary. Each walk will be led by someone who has previously volunteered and who will have recce'd the route beforehand. Walks are about 4.5 miles, mainly off-road and take 2 to 2.5 hours.
Walkers should be reasonably fit, have suitable 'walking' clothing, boots etc., and be capable of negotiating stiles and able to maintain a walking rate that will meet the distance and time scales mentioned above. Walkers are responsible for their own Health and/or Safety and for the safekeeping of their clothing, equipment and belongings. They will be required to sign a 'Disclaimer', absolving the Walk and Group Leaders and/or the U3A from liability should any loss or accident occur - thus being responsible for their own Personal Accident occurrences.
After the walk is completed, we hope that the walkers will gather in the Pub for refreshments or lunch, the cost of which will be for each individual to settle direct with the Pub.
