History Discussion

Well, we finally finished Byzantium, and what a story! Totally amazing and showed how the
history of all the countries surrounding the Mediterranean are interlinked - fascinating. We
decided to stay in the area and talk about Malta with its central geographical/strategic
importance, and conquest by so many peoples - Sicilians, Romans, Normans, Muslims
etc.
Members of the group who had visited there, shared information about the prehistoric
monuments, especially all the temples and we looked at coloured scans of these sites, as
well as photos. So, a very interesting session, with so many personal experiences to talk
about, and give an idea of Malta, as a place to visit.
