Spanish – Intermediate
We meet twice a month on a Friday morning at the home of one of our members.
We are a very friendly group of about 8 people whose aim is to help each other as we endeavour to master the Spanish Language.
We’ve worked our way through the BBC’s ‘Espana Viva’ coursebook and ’30 days to great Spanish’ and we’re now using ‘Pasos 1’ and its associated workbook. We are supplementing this with exercises from Collins grammar book. To develop our speaking and listening skills we play games, have conversations on useful topics and listen to CDs. Some group members also use interactive Spanish websites.
There are no experts or teachers in our group, more a set of friends willing each other on in an atmosphere of mutual co-operation.
Educational trip by Intermediate Spanish group
The group visited Manchester recently to practise their Spanish on an unsuspecting waiter in a tapas restaurant. Having established the availability of vino de casa and the whereabouts of los servicios, the group set about matching the tapas dishes to their descriptions on the menu. Members of the group also had the opportunity to refresh their English at various nearby retail outlets, so it was a most successful trip.
