Scrabble

Group Leader: Christine Potter

Venue: Pike Hill Library, Burnley

Scrabble was originally developed in 1931 and was called Criss Cross because of its similarity to crossword puzzles. It was redesigned as Scrabble in 1948 and many believe it to be the best word game there is. Our Group think so!
We get a boost from winning a game of course. Who is not a little competitive? But what we appreciate most is the playing of unusual words or clever little ‘fit-ins’. At the end of the afternoon our brains are tired.
Does this mean we are sharper too? We like to think so.

The group meets for two hours every two weeks and our venue has facilities for making tea (essential). We learn new words, try to remember them and often fail. No matter, we enjoy the process
