Do you take photos? These days, with the ease and negligible cost of digital photography, most people do. Do you sometimes look at photos in magazines and wish you could take pictures like that? We can't promise magazine standards but come to our meetings and see if we can help you to improve.
Anyone can point a camera (or, these days, a phone) and press the button, but by understanding more about composition, the use of light and choosing the right camera settings you can produce pictures that stand out.
We are a group of people who enjoy taking photos and sharing and comparing our results. We choose a topic as a project for each month and take pictures based on our own interpretations of it. At our monthly meeting we review our results and comment constructively on each other's work in a friendly atmosphere. Our aim is to get more out of our "snaps" and turn them into more pleasing pictures. For this year's list of projects, click here: #|2023-2024 Project
Our members range from complete beginners to those more experienced photographers who can help and advise - but we are all there to learn and to improve our results. The monthly topics provide a challenge to go out and use our cameras and maybe to photograph something we may never have thought about before.
We can also arrange more practical sessions, such as exploring improvements and corrections you can make with digital editing software to give your pictures more impact. What we do is up to our members. Everyone has a say.
You don't need a fancy camera to take good photos. Most compacts and even phones can now produce outstanding results, so come along and give us a try.
