Latin for Beginners

This group is for absolute beginners and for those who haven't done any Latin since their schooldays.

Latin is an inflected language: it's all about the word endings. As well as coming to terms with these endings, we also explore the links between Latin and English as well as learning about the Romans.

The book we are using is “Latin to GCSE 1” by Cullen and Taylor, but don't let that put you off: we are not doing any exams! This book was chosen because it has lots of practice exercises at frequent intervals (not just at the end of a chapter) and we also have the answers.

Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 1.30pm at Branston Library.
