This month we read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This is a haunting tale of friendship which spans cultures and continents, and follows one mans journey to confront his past and find redemption. It starts in Afghanistan a divided country on the verge of war and two childhood friends about to be torn apart. In Kabul friends Hassan and Amir take part in a Kite fling tournament unaware of a terrible incident which will shatter their lives forever.
We all enjoyed the book even though some of us had read it before. We then took ourselves of to the Theatre to watch an unforgettable performance. Many thanks to Chris who booked the tickets and arranged a pre theatre lunch.
