Welcome

Uttoxeter and District u3a have over 450 members of retired and semi retired people. We come together to learn, laugh and live. We organise almost 40 interest groups and classes and also manage, for our members, a regular Wednesday OPEN HOUSE morning at Wilfred House, Carter Street, Uttoxeter, ST14 8EY. We start at 10a.m. through to 11.30a.m., do come along and you will be made very welcome.

We are a registered charity and are affiliated to the national Third Age Trust. We are a volunteering organisation, all of our Group Leaders and Committee members give their time freely to help the u3a move forward and sustain our interests.

You might be new in town or newly retired. You might want to learn a new skill, get fitter, find a new hobby or make new friends. The u3a might be just what you are looking for. Our annual membership fee is just £10 per person and all our classes, activities and groups are available at just £2 per time. We rent local venues in Uttoxeter to host our activities. We may sound cheap and cheerful, but we happily bring people together in interests and friendship. We also manage special events every 3rd Wednesday, for which we make a small charge, to support us as a Registered Charity.

Why do people join our u3a?

“I moved to the area to live near to my family, but knew no one else. I needed to make new friends, and I did, here at the u3a.”
“ I was widowed two years ago and lost my best friend and was stuck at home. A friend introduced me to the u3a, and I have never looked back. I go to 4 activities every week and sign up for the trips out as soon as they are posted.”

Our membership year runs from September to August and the annual cost is £10. If you are already a member of another u3a you can join us at a reduced cost of just £7.50
