Music Appreciation Group

For music enthusiasts of all genres.

Meetings involve illustrated presentations and discussions on the many different styles and types of music. The main aim of the group is to expand people’s listening experiences and maximise enjoyment of music in all its forms - whether through recordings or live concerts.

To help open up the fascinating world of music, the Music Appreciation Group is presented by Dr Ian Darrington MBE and Peter Fletcher. Both are directors of the Music Continuum CIC with responsibility for the Wigan International Jazz Festival, Wigan Jazz Club and the Really Awful Orchestra.

We meet at 1.30pm on the fourth Thursday afternoon of each month (except July & August) at Book Cycle Beech Hill Cabin. £2 per head contribution required for room hire.
