"Our next meeting is at Bianco e Nero, Paisley on Friday 29th March at 2PM - everyone is welcome.
The main idea of the group is to visit places of interest to start with. Places of interest could include the Watt Institution, Greenock; Glasgow Vintage Vehicles; and the Railway Training School at Larbert. We will probably advance to having guest speakers if we get enough interested people to make it financially viable. I can talk until the cows come home on Railway Signaling!
You don't need a technological background, just an interest in things and how they work, how they are made and possibly their history..
I have also been in touch with other u3a groups who have well established technical sections and who are willing to give talks by some of their members as well as giving me tips about who else to approach for talks. BtW - I can recommend the coffee at Bianco E Nero. No connection with the management!!"
