Rosalind worked in science education in secondary schools, and then in training primary and secondary teachers.

Trip to Doonfoot on Thursday 26 August21

11am- 12.30 pm walking trip round the sites of the Tam O'Shanter poem with Jim Thomson.
Followed by a visit to the Burns Museum and Cottage admission £ 8.50 with possibility of
our own guide. Free for members of The National Trust for Scotland.
Cafe / restaurant - hotmeals between 12- 3 pm
Please get in touch if you would like to join us and book a place on the bus given we are
subsidising this trip which is open to the whole membership.

Thursday 5th November 2020 at 2.00PM

We were delighted to welcome our guest speaker Dr Alexandra Mavroeidi from the University of Strathclyde. Her talk addressed the issue "Stand Up for your Bones". Her extensive research on bone density and aging suggests that if we spend more time standing than sitting down with advancing years, we will help our bone density and balance.
