Music Makers

The Music Makers group is for people who can play a musical instrument and would like to get together to share their music. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a beginner, getting back into playing or a more experienced player. It is an opportunity to join with others who are interested in playing music.

There is a mixture of instruments and skills – piano, acoustic guitar, classical guitar, mouth organ and keyboard with music from folk, classical and more recent genres.

The group have recently been playing “Brahms Lullaby”, “The Northern Lights”, “Scarborough Fair” and “The Loch Tay Boat Song”. Also, people entertain us with their own favourites such as “Dark Island By” Iain Maclachan and Bert Kaempfert’s version of “Wonderland By Night”. There is good fun too where our timing goes awry and we all finish at different times.

Our next meetings are on Thursday April 11th from 1:30 pm till around 4pm and then on Thursday 9th May. The next piece we are looking at is “The Times They are A-Changin” by Bob Dylan”.

If you are interested please get in touch to give us a try. There is no audition and all we ask is that you ‘have a go’. Or you might just want to come and listen first. There is always a break for coffee/tea and biscuits too.

The leader of this group is Ellen Bailie and she can be contacted via the Contact page. Select the Music Makers Group, enter your details, add a message and select the “Send Message” button at the bottom of the page. You might need to scroll down the page a bit.
