Art History: “From Turner to Monet”
Would you like to join our popular art history group? For 2024 we are focusing on landscape art in a wide-ranging course that embraces such artists as Turner, Constable and Monet as well as some Australian artists and a group of Canadian artists. At the meeting on February 13th we are going to feature a guest speaker, Peter Beckingham, who has recently written a book, “Sussex Showcase: 2000 years of Great Art from Bignor to Brighton”. Peter’s talk will be followed by an introduction to the new course by Bernard Allan.
Meetings are held at the Methodist Church Hall, on the second Tuesday each month, from 10.00 to 12.00. There is a small (one-off) charge of £15 to cover the cost of hiring the hall and the refreshments.
