Midhurst

Local History

Do you share my fascination with the history of the area where we now live? If so you might be interested in our Local History Group?

I am not suggesting primary research (although that would be welcome) but the researching of the secondary sources on a particular topic such as a small local village e.g. Cocking, Tudor Midhurst, or notable residents, or some aspect of social, or economic history of the area, which I am defining as within 15 miles of Midhurst.

This research will be shared with the group with discussion afterwards - depending on the size of the topic either for a whole meeting, or possibly two topics - one either side of tea/coffee. Maximum group size is 8 and all members have to be prepared to talk about their research on a rotation basis. We meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm

West Sussex Public Library Service provides information on towns in West Sussex and links to further information about them. You can click on West Sussex Libraries Midhurst to see the Midhurst page.
