Church Visiting
We try to arrange the trips between members of the group and meet each month
though not on a specific day or week as the time of our visit has to be agreed with each individual church.
On previous visits either the Vicar or a senior member of their team has given us a talk on the history and main architectural features of their building. The visits usually last up to an hour and allow time for individuals to look around the church and to take photographs. We often meet for tea/coffee before our visit and sometimes have lunch together afterwards. We have visited churches close to Southend and to public transport. However it is useful if members of the group have access to a car and are thus able to offer lifts to non-drivers.
