Local History

The Local History Group concentrates on South East Essex. Topics that members have researched recently include 'Islands around Essex' : 'Iconic Buildings of Southend' : and 'The Coming of the Railways'. We have had some very interesting speakers and from time to time we visit places of interest.
We meet in the small hall at St.Aidan's Church on the 3rd Friday of each month at 2.30.
This groups is now jointly lead by Sally and Tony.

19th March. Members will report on their findings of the origins of various local place names.

12th April Carole Mulroney will give an illustrated and very interesting talk on Leigh.
Any member of Leigh on Sea U3A welcome to come but contact Sally or Tony to reserve a seat
