The Thames viewed from Billet Lane

Billet Lane is one of the old byways leading from the upper town to the Old Town of Leigh-on-Sea. Along the way was the old workhouse, now disappeared, but Billet Cottage still stands at the bottom of the hill. And across the other side of the railway line lies the The Billet public house.
