The Poetry Group is a small, though friendly, group that meets on the first Friday morning of each month from 10.00 to 12.00. At the moment, we take it in turns to meet in each other's homes, where possible, and are in great need of more members. We would love to welcome any poetry lovers or those who would like to try it.
The aim of our group is not to write our own poetry but to read out selected poems by published poets, old and new. Each month we choose a theme and then research and bring along several poems related to that topic. Just lately, we have had such topics as: weather, colours, friendship and birds.
We hope you will consider joining us. During our meetings we have discovered and introduced each other to many new poems and poets, which can be quite exciting!
