Creative Writing
We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, 10:00 to 12:00 at Crediton Golf Club. Just come right in and find us. You will always be made welcome.
Our creative writing group aims to:
• be mutually supportive
• be confidential
• show trust and respect for each other
• be fun, fun, fun
None of us had any substantial experience of creative writing when we started out, so we decided to make 'creative writing' anything we wanted it to be. Our focus has been on getting better at writing things that make sense for - and engage - others.
The group is democratic and dynamic, and as new members have joined they have had an equal say in the group's development.
The Creative Writing Group continues to go from strength to strength. With a full register of 9 members, we continue to produce good quality writing whilst learning additional techniques to continuously improve.
Through 2023, the members of the group have submitted 57 stories for peer feedback, usually featuring a common theme. Time spent in Crediton Churchyard in October as our annual ‘outing,’ produced a plethora of thought-provoking and sensitive poems.

Do contact me if you have any questions or thoughts, or would like to join the group. We always welcome new members. Don't think you need to be a writer before you join. The group is not for writers: it is for people who would like to try writing in a supportive and appreciative setting.
