Hello folks

we have a new cinema club in town.

The Curious cinema club.

The Elephant on the Green are showing films on Friday nights.

It costs £3.00 to join the film club and this allows members to invite 1 guest and £6.00 entry to the film including a selection of light snacks. Wine, beers and cider are available to buy.

If you would like more information about the future films and how to join the club please send an email to:-tccinemaclub@gmail.com

Hello everyone. .First of all just a quick mention - 12 members went to see the Mousetrap with several having lunch or coffee at the Northcote before the performance which was a great idea.. A really excellent performance by the cast enjoyed by all.

For potential new dates - a reminder - please book your own tickets and nearer the date we will coordinate travel for those that wish to be coordinated! It would be very useful if on buying a ticket you let Richard know by replying to this email to aid travel coordination and maybe shared lifts.

Probably the one closest to the end of the year is War Horse at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth with a matinee at 2.30 on Thursday 28th November. To our surprise there are only about a dozen seats left so if you are interested in going we recommend booking straight away..Two tickets have been booked so far.

Then there were none (another Agather Christie play)- Barnfield Theatre, Exeter Saturday 29th June at 2.30pm

Officer and a Gentleman ( A musical based on the film) - Princess Theatre, Torquay - Wednesday 3rd July at 2.30pm

Jesus Christ Superstar (Andrew LLoyd Webber musical at his absolute finest) - Princess Theatre Torquay Wednesday 17th July at 2.30pm.

The Nutcracker (Ballet) - Exmouth Pavilion Saturday 2nd November at 2.30pm.

Hope you find something of interest and if you have any recommendations for shows please let us know.

visit to Northcott Theatre
For 90 minutes Robert Daws was on stage alone, giving his wonderful performance as Pelham Grenville Wodehouse or Plum to his friends. There were lighthearted moments, some very sad moments and also a few jolly songs thrown into the mix. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance and l for one will certainly be reading some more of his wonderful books.

Last Friday a group of us went to Crediton Arts Centre to see The Picture of Dorian Gray.

An innocent and young Dorian Gray is the subject of a portrait by his close friend Basil Hallward, an artist impressed and infatuated by his youthful beauty, who believes Dorian is the reason for the new mood of his art as a painter. When Dorian’s wish to remain young seems to have been granted by the Devil, all the while his portrait ages and records every moral transgression he commits.

This is Brown Paper Bag's first production since 2019's Under Milk Wood. Dorian Gray is directed by Frank Kelsall, who sat next to us.

Maybe a moral tale for the instagram generation.

The first outing of the Theatre group in 2023 was to The Lamb at Sandford cinema club to see The latest Fisherman’s friends film. Some of us had a meal beforehand others ate chips and we all enjoyed the film which was a lighthearted comedy with sea shanties. The bonus is that it is free entry to see the film.
