Film Circle

Film Circle: Last Friday of the month at 2.30pm.

The objectives of our group is to view films old and new and them discuss the merits (or otherwise) of story lines, actors, directors and aspects of the productions.

We are now 20 strong in our Film Group and our register changes very little.
We have had a selection of films this year. These included the film about Turner directed by Mike Leigh, and the film about Stephen Hawkins, “The Theory of Everything” both of which we went to the cinema to see. We then watched “être et avoir” a lovely French film about French school children, “Lawrence of Arabia” and “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”. In the coming months we will be going to the cinema to see the new version of “Far from the Madding Crowd” before we break for the summer. These are all discussed in an animated fashion and everyone airs their likes and dislikes about the films in question. We follow this with a Film Quiz which is a great favourite.
