What we do:
The group was set up to knit tiny jumpers for newborn African babies when they left hospital. They were known as "Fish and Chip Babies" as many of them left hospital wrapped in newspaper.
Over the years the group have knitted for various causes and charities, including Cardigans, Hats and Blankets for the Preemie Hospital Units at Carlisle and Whitehaven, Hearts and Crosses for the Hospital Chaplaincy, Woolly hats for the Mariners around our coastline, Twiddlemuffs for fidgety hands at the Hospice and Care Homes, Toys, Hats and mittens for Refugees, Teddies and Comforters for Police and Firemen to distribute to young children who have been affected by fire or other trauma.
You can always bring your own work and benefit from the help and inspiration of the group.
