Calligraphy
This is a new group with new to U3A tutor, Cherry, in which I hope to encourage you to learn a new skill, or refresh an old one! Limited spaces, so BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL please.
We'll meet on Fridays starting on 2nd February, from 1pm to 3pm meeting at the Red Lion on Horninglow Road/Rolleston Road junction. There's room behind the venue to park about 5 cars intimately acquainted, and further parking across the road behind the parade of shops. It will cost £2 per session.
You do not need good handwriting to be able to make a fair fist at calligraphy - it's a much slower and thoughtful process than dashing off a shopping list (or a love letter!). Tongue sticking out is optional.
Each week will build on the previous lesson, so you'd need to come to as many as you can, although being adults there's always something that crops up.
There will be some specialist equipment that you will need, but for the first week we'll be using pencils, so I reckon you'll have a couple of HBs lurking around, and maybe some coloured pencils too. Kit sorted!
And if you haven't laughed during each session, we're not doing it right!
