BE KIND
We all live very busy lives these days, and we are very grateful to those people who take on roles to keep Burton u3a running and give us so many opportunities. We MUST remember that they do this voluntarily because they have a passion and want you to enjoy the subject, outing or whatever. BUT they have homes, families, lives and possibly health issues, SO PLEASE BE KIND and take care of them, treat them with respect – they are more valuable than you may ever know. Indeed, all members of Burton u3a have signed up to say that they agree to do this. The following is on the Membership Application Form, and is reproduced below for your convenience: By joining Burton on Trent u3a, you are entering into a contract with us, in which you must: * Abide by the principles of the u3a movement * Always act in the best interests of the u3a and never do anything to bring the u3a into disrepute * Abide by the terms and conditions of the Burton on Trent u3a Constitution * Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy at all times * Comply with and support the decisions of the elected committee * Advise the Membership Secretary of any change in your personal details.
