PHOTOGRAPHY 1
Photography Group 1 is a broadly based group aimed at a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experienced camera users. We meet in the mornings on the first Wednesday of each month, when we visit agreed locations to take photographs. As well as local sites such as the riverside and Calke Abbey, we have been to more distant locations such as Elvaston Castle, Derby, Keddleston and Birmingham centre. We meet again on the third Wednesday of the month, indoors at the Priory centre, Church Road, Stretton, when we view and discuss the images from the previous trip. The indoor meetings also feature some short tutorials on topics of interest to members: these have included basic computer processing skills, and camera skills such as composition and exposure.
The ethos of the group is entirely friendly and informal, and while we aim to improve our photography, we view each meeting as a social occasion. Coffee and cake features regularly, and has even been photographed.
At present the group is full with a maximum of 20 members. However, changes occur from time to time, and anyone interested in joining can be included on a waiting list. Further information can be obtained by clicking the bluebird logo above and following the link.
