Local Studies: Country Folk & City Folk

Local studies is a vibrant and varied field.

Joining the Aberdeen u3a Local Studies Country Folk & City Folk Interest Group provides ways to approach important - and not so important - historical, cultural and heritage themes and topics relating to the city of Aberdeen as well as the historic counties of Aberdeenshire, Angus (Forfarshire), Banffshire, Kincardineshire, as well as Moray and Nairn.

In our group there are plenty of opportunities for members to share their enthusiasms and interests.

Our normal meeting place is the Northern Arts Club (NAC). We meet on the 2nd Thursday on most calendar months from 10.00 am -12.00 noon. In the words of one of our members (there's) 'no shortage of conversation' (with) 'a cuppa half way through, joy!'.

During session 2023/24 we might blend our approach to include some Zoom meetings and an Aberdeen-based study visit in addition to our meetings at the NAC.
