Walking

Walks are normally held on the second Saturday of each month, from September to June, and we meet at 10am. Most walks are on fairly level ground and of 4-7 miles in length, but a few may be more testing. Instead of having a single group leader, individual members volunteer to lead walks of their own choosing. New members are welcome to join us on our monthly walks.

Each session's walks are listed on the webpage, emailed to group members, and also intimated at the U3A monthly meetings. Full details of each month's walk are usually added to the website a couple of weeks ahead of the walk date.

Meet at 10.00am at the Alex Collie Sports Centre, Cardens Knowe (off of Scotstown Road) Bridge of Don AB22 8PE, where there is good parking. There are toilet facilities in the Centre. The Centre can also reached using the no 2 bus service to Ashwood.

The walk is on good paths and tracks, mainly downhill, to the River Don. These can be muddy at times so stout footwear is required. We will then walk through Seaton Park and take in the walled gardens to see magnolia and camellia. The walk is one way and we will return to the starting point by bus. Bring a drink and a snack if you wish. DON’T FORGET YOUR BUS PASS!

Please note that walkers must be members of the U3A. Members walk at their own risk and will be asked to sign a disclaimer form before their first walk. A copy of the form is available as a link on this page. All walkers should wear stout shoes or boots and dress appropriately for the expected weather.
